“Tedak siten” is a cultural heritage of Javanese ancestors for babies aged about seven or eight months. “Tedak siten” is also known as a “first time touching the ground” ceremony. “Tedak”' means down and “siten” comes from the word 'siti' which means land. “Tedak siten” ceremony is performed in series of events aimed at the baby grows into an independent child.
